Soft Solutions announces SchedulePack Version 2.1!

Atlanta, GA - May 5, 2000: Soft Solutions announces SchedulePack version 2.1, providing full compatibility with 4D and 4D Server Version 6.5.

SchedulePack version 2.1 provides access to SchedulePack arrays which allows 4D developers to work with a broader range of database tools and to solve a greater scope of application problems. This list includes, but is not limited to databases in Oracle, Sybase as well as other 4D Supported SQL database engines.
Within version 6.5 of 4D Client/Server, SchedulePack version 2.1 provides mixed platform usage with any Windows and/or Mac-based 4D Client/Server configuration.

Developers and Users will experience improved performance for high volume Activity tables due to internal array optimization and memory management. With version 2.1, there is also a 30-50% faster drawing of the SchedulePack area and much quicker response time to User clicks. Events Memory Management requires 50% less memory over version 2.04. Phil Weiss, SchedulePack's Developer, has rewritten and improved much of the underlying code responsible for significant performance improvements, especially for larger databases.

Version 2.1 also provides improved plug-in overall stability while including more internal error checking and Developer return codes. These improvements also include, but are not limited to: The creating, moving, and re-sizing of events, the drawing of rows (especially the Time), print support within 4D version 6.5, faster and smoother banner events display and redisplay, elimination of SchedulePack Area flickering after closing a front-most Dialog and the drawing of scroll bars (especially on a Windows machines).

- Apple PowerPC Macintosh running System 8.0 or higher (including MacOS 9)
- Windows (all OS versions except Windows version 3.1 no longer supported)
- 4th Dimension 6.0.3 or higher (including 4D v6.5) for the Macintosh

SchedulePack v2.1 for Windows/Mac OS (upgrade from v.2.0x) - $139.00/developer
SchedulePack v2.1 for Windows/Mac OS (upgrade from v.1.0x) - $249.00/developer

SchedulePack Developer licenses are sold on a per developer basis. For this reason, SchedulePack must be purchased for each developer within any organization who uses SchedulePack.

Additionally, SchedulePack Deployment licenses are available for commercially deployed 4D applications. Pricing for a SchedulePack Deployment license (within a commercially deployed 4D application) remains $295/year/platform/application.

Developers currently under a Deployment license are required to be current in Deployment licensing fees in order to upgrade to version 2.1
