4-Sight FAX 7.5 is equipped to lead the way with Internet fax capabilities, providing more enhanced features and functionalities. Unlike current Internet fax services, the in-house fax server provides complete control with encrypted user log-in security. Because companies can now free themselves from being held captive to hefty third party / per fax pricing, there need not be any limits on fax volume, the number of recipients or the number of attachments per fax. The savings can be significant, because users are not charged per fax sent. The upgraded server communication libraries provide a significant improvement in data transfer reliability and performance, with speeds up to 400% faster.

The new, innovative browser-based web client gives end-users direct access to creating, sending, viewing and downloading faxes from any web browser or web-enabled handheld device. Customized for up to a dozen different languages, users have direct fax access from a single hyperlink click, via emails or SMS text notifications.

Due to the continued strong demand for fax automation in medical, manufacturing and service industries, the new 7.5 release provides greater control and flexibility for both developers and end-users. A new improved workflow option, the custom save preferences allow incoming faxes to be automatically saved to any FAX server folder. With the 7.5 print driver requirements now optional, FaxPack 7.5.1 enables Filemaker Pro and 4th Dimension applications to send PDF, PNG and TIFF files directly to the FAX server, eliminating steps and saving time. With the 7.5 FAX server email engine, all incoming faxes can be automatically forwarded to users via email or as an SMS text message. Users can now send emails and attachments to a specific email address, where 4-Sight FAX will then convert the email and send it out as a fax, to any number of recipients. Soft Solutions is pleased to announce FaxPack 7.5 for Filemaker Pro and 4th Dimension (4D). FaxPack 7.5 is a Universal Binary plug-in which runs native on Intel Macintosh as well as PPC Macintosh machines. The Universal Binary architecture also provides improved performance for all FaxPack commands, although speed improvement for processor intensive commands are tenfold or greater.

FaxPack 7.5 includes a new fax archival command allowing developers to archive incoming or outgoing faxes in either Tiff or PDF format. Programmers can specify a fax or a group of faxes to be archived, based on any criteria, freeing the incoming and outgoing queues for the most current or relevant faxes. The FaxPack Switch printer command has been updated for compatibility and optimized with the latest Leopard versions of Mac OS X. This command provides automated printer switching from both Filemaker Pro and 4D applications. All new FaxPack 7.5 commands are built to work with 4-Sight FAX Server version 7.0 or later.

FaxPack 7.5 for 4th Dimension is compatible with 4D version 11 and has been adapted to the new 4D 2004 (and later) plug-in design. FaxPack 7.5 is also available in both the new and old 4D plug-in architecture. The new plug-in format contains a single cross platform file that runs on both Macintosh and Windows for 4D 2004 and later. 4D developers can simply drop the FaxPack plug-in into the plug-ins folder. Legacy 4D applications running 4D 2003 and earlier, can upgrade to FaxPack 7.5 while still using the traditional Mac4DX and Win4DX formats when necessary.

With 4-Sight FAX, FaxPack users can enjoy complete faxing solutions within their database. The integral FaxPack plug-in provides an ideal solution for companies needing one-step fax sending of database forms to their customers. In addition, FaxPack applications commonly retrieve, view and check the status of a fax. Major Fax Engine Upgrade and Bonjour with 4-Sight FAX v7.0.10

Soft Solutions is pleased to announce 4-Sight FAX Server and Client version 7.0.10, representing a major upgrade to the 4-Sight FAX Server fax/modem engine. This release, free to current version 7 customers, provides compatibility for more modems and fax machines while improving modem (and fax machine) communications and reliability, specifically with Class 1 modems and a wider variety of fax machines.

The 7.0.10 release aims to provide a solution to wedge modem states, which began occuring with greater frequency with Class 1 modems under the latest releases of the Macintosh Leopard operating system.

With 7.0.10, Soft Solutions also adds support for two (2) new MultiTech modems, the MultiTech MT9234MU and the Multitech MT9234ZBA USB v92. These modems represent the latest in modem communications and provide customers with a 10 year warranty providing repair or replacement.

The 4-Sight FAX Client has updated its client to server connection using underlying Bonjour technology. While this implementation was initially in response to the FAX Client’s inability to see 4-Sight FAX Servers running under Macintosh OS X, 10.5.4 or later, the Bonjour solution provides fax server listings almost instantly within a networks subnet. In the majority of instances, the connection speed is now from 0 to 3 seconds, contrasted to earlier releases, which was anywhere from 5 to 15 seconds.

This 7.0.10 Client release also corrects a bug when the Client program has been relocated to anywhere outside its default “4-Sight FAX Client” folder. This scenario created a problem when the Client failed to locate the “Languages” folder. The updated client will automatically default to the English language. A variety of small bug fixes were implemented, including a slow memory leak patch.
