Soft Solutions releases SchedulePack v3

Atlanta, GA ---- April 24, 2003 ----
Soft Solutions releases SchedulePack 3.0, the 4D scheduling plug-in that simplifies complex scheduling tasks by presenting database activities as colored objects. Version 3 provides compatibility for 4D 6.8, 4D 2003 and Macintosh OS X, while introducing a new set of valuable features.

The SchedulePack version 3 plug-in has a newly designed time-line and charting tool. This new plug-in area provides 4D developers customizable display and print capabilities. Moreover, it is ideal for providing end-users a valuable time-line display. The new plug-in area consists of over a half-dozen chart-related commands. These commands provide developers detailed control over time-lines and any other information that can be charted. 4D Developers can now display times from left to right with associated event resources from top to bottom.

A new callback phase is available in version 3, "SXkQueryBefore". This special callback capability was introduced to allow 4D developers full control over the SchedulePack display. SchedulePack arrays can now be directly populated according to their application's specific requirements. In addition, the SXkQueryBefore command allows developers to generate and display non-database-related data directly into the SchedulePack area. This has a number of viable uses, such as: blocking out lunch or down-times with specific color-coded events, marking a scheduling with important non-database related events or displaying specific resource-related events. Whatever the problem, this new flexibility to populate scheduling arrays opens up exciting solutions for any variety of scheduling challenges.

Version 3 provides a developer command for the equitable handling of multiple event overlaps. Prior to version 3, busy time slots became easily overcrowded with numerous event objects. Under version 3, better positioning of the event objects makes it possible to display scheduling conflicts more precisely and accurately. The new Chart area has a unique layered approach to displaying multiple events, ensuring that overlaps do not occur.

A new version 3 command accepts both time and integer values for the hours displayed. This allows the SchedulePack area to draw and extend beyond the midnight limitation imposed under earlier versions. The display columns will now extend after midnight into the following day. This is valuable for organizations who need to manage scheduling from one day over into the next.

SchedulePack Developer licenses are $295 per platform. Individual 4D Server as well as OEM deployment options are available also. For more information, please visit http://www.softsinc.com/schedulepack.html or call Soft Solutions at 770.457.9400 or 888.447.4448 within the USA.
