Soft Solutions releases FaxPack version 5, the first cross-platform plug-in for 4-Sight FAX v5 and 4th Dimension 2003

Atlanta, GA ---- April 22, 2003 ---- Macintosh OS X and Windows faxing from 4th Dimension is now available with the release of FaxPack version 5. 4th Dimension versions 6.0 through 2003 are now supported for direct faxing from any 4D-based application.

FaxPack 5 for 4th Dimension works exclusively with 4-Sight FAX v5 & v6. The new plug-in allows a 4D programmer to fully automate the creation and sending of faxes directly from any 4D application through 4-Sight FAX v5 & v6 servers. With FaxPack 5, the 4D developer can manage user log-ins, list and pick cover pages, automate print driver selection, establish sending priorities, attach fax enclosures and obtain the status of any outgoing fax.

FaxPack 5 provides faxing capabilities under Macintosh OS 8, 9 and X as well as Windows 98, Me, XP and 2000. Eliminating the need for the 4-Sight FAX client, FaxPack provides one-click integrated database faxing. At the same time, it removes the need for maintaining multiple address books. In addition, version 5's TCP/IP fax server capability allows customers to initiate faxes from remote databases through any Internet connection.

Previous versions of FaxPack are currently installed in a variety of worldwide 4D applications. Under version 5, with the addition of the FaxPack for Windows plug-in, customers can now fax from any 4D cross-platform database. In Mississippi, PurdyFaxx delivers an automated patient medical record fax-back system written in 4D using FaxPack. In St. Louis, Missouri, Barnes Jewish Hospital's Cardiac Diagnostic Lab has automated 4D’s faxing of new patient Cardiac reports to multiple physicians.
